“All FCPS employees have a right to a workplace free of discrimination and harassment.  As such, members of the LGBT community should feel that they have the same rights as any other member of the FCPS community.  The boundaries associated with an employee’s personal life, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, must be respected.

That said,  discussion of membership in LGBT social, athletic and professional organizations, or the community at large, as well as our long-term relationships, is entirely appropriate. We certainly shouldn’t be asked to dissemble when asked questions by students and parents.

FCPS policy allows all employees to be out without fear of discrimination.”
