Community Support Organizations

 

Modern Military Association MilPride: Specifically for LGBTQ military children and their families. Provides resources and support groups to help meet the needs of each family. 

 

TransGender Education Association (TGEA): TGEA seeks to serve the needs and interests of all the people in the gender community through advocacy, support, and education. TGEA holds adult, parent, and teen,groups once a month. 

 

Safe Space NOVA: Provides positive programming for LGBT + youth (ages 14 to 18) in the for FFX and our neighbors. Please contact at info@safespacenova.org for more information. 

 

NOVA Prism Center and Library: A private library and community center for the Northern Virginia LGBTQIA+ community. 

 

Metro DC PFLAG: Promotes equality and the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) people and their families through support, education, and advocacy.

 

Fairfax PFLAG: Hosts a number of age-appropriate groups for youth and adults. 

 

MAGIC (Metro Area Gender Identity Connection of Washington DC) peer support group meeting monthly

FCPS Pride: FCPS Pride is composed of LGBTQIA+ staff, parents/guardians/family of LGBTQIA+ students, LGBTQIA+ family members and allies in the school and community joining together for a public school system in Fairfax County and City where each person is welcome, safe, included and respected regardless of their identities, including but not limited to identities related to gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression. We advocate and hold community events, including coffees and rallies throughout the school year. The Pride Liberation project is an entirely student-led 501(c)4 grassroots coalition in Northern Virginia organizing for inclusive schools. We lobby, organize testimonies, educate the community, and work with community partners to effect change that uplifts every student, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or income level.
